  2. So when it comes to concerts do you have a preference between outdoor and indoor venues? I feel like both have their own vibe honestly. Outdoor concerts feel more relaxed and free but you've got to deal with weather and all that. Indoor venues have better sound and climate control but sometimes they can feel cramped or stuffy. What's your take on it? Do you lean toward one over the other or does it just depend on the artist and location? What's been your best experience?
  3. I'm really curious...what's the most unusual concert you've ever been to? Like something totally different from your typical show you know? Maybe it was an unexpected genre, a weird venue or just something totally out of the ordinary. I feel like everyone has at least one concert story that's just kind of random or unexpected. So what was yours? What made it stand out as weird or different from the norm? I'd love to hear about it!
  4. Do you actually keep up with your favorite artist's tour schedule? Like are you one of those people who checks their social media regularly or signs up for notifications to make sure you don't miss when they come to your area? I'm always curious how dedicated fans stay in the loop about all that. Some people seem really on top of it while others just stumble into concerts by accident. How do you usually find out about tours? Do you actively track them or just get lucky sometimes?
  5. So I'm curious have you ever actually camped out for concert tickets before? Lik, standing in line overnight or showing up super early just to make sure you get good seats? I feel like that's pretty intense commitment honestly. Some people do it all the time for their favorite artists but I always wonder if it's really worth it or if you can just buy them online now without all that hassle. What's your take on it? Have you been through that experience yourself?
  6. Honestly.. if it was my favorite artist I'd totally go solo without hesitation. I mean, you are there for the music and the experience right.. It doesn't really matter who you are with when it comes to that. Going alone actually sounds kind of freeing because you can just focus on enjoying the performance without worrying about anyone else. Plus you might meet other fans who are just as excited as you are. That shared energy at a concert is what really matters.

  8. In 2009, Nick Cave published The Death Of Bunny Munro, a darkly comic novel about a sex-addicted salesman. I read it for work, and I hated it. 12. The emotive Baltimore punks Pinkshift released their album Earthkeeper earlier this year, and the followed it by releasing the single “Authority Problem” and a live cover of Slipknot’s “Eyeless.” Now, we’re getting one last Pinkshift track before the year is out. It’s a pretty, shimmery, largely acoustic song called “Snow.” I don’t know whether it… The post Pinkshift – “Snow” appeared first on Stereogum. View the full article
  13. Allow me to pull the curtain back on the way that this particular website operates during the holidays. Once we finalize all our year-end lists, things tend to get way slower around here, and Scott lets us take most of late December off. But someone is always working. Scott is always working, pretty much for his entire life, and one writer per day handles the blog posts. We just divide all of them up among us. Even on Christmas day, someone is posting away. And I have to tell you: On the days when I'm working, I really look forward to blogging about whatever happened at the previous night's Yo La Tengo Hanukkah show. 18. Ultra-famous superfriends SZA and Kendrick Lamar spent most of 2025 on what amounts to one long victory lap together. They played the Super Bowl. Their song "Luther" topped the Hot 100 for months, and the two of them took their stadium show all over the world. (I caught the Raleigh date, and it was great.) But SZA and Kendrick Lamar remain perfectly capable of playing non-stadium rooms — venues like crystal shops and housing-project toy drives. 19. It's Cameron Winter Winter. You already knew this. Geese's Getting Killed is the critical-consensus album of the year, and it's topping all kinds of year-end lists, including ours. Winter's solo debut Heavy Metal is also placing high on lots of year-end lists, even though it technically came out last year. (Maybe last winter was Cameron Winter Winter, too.) Right now, Winter is on a short run of solo shows. In New York, Paul Thomas Anderson and Benny Safdie filmed his performance. In Los Angeles, he covered This Is Lorelei and debuted a new song. In Chicago, he did another new song. The post Cameron Winter Gives Chicago New Song, Gets Photo Ops With Debbie Harry And Jeff Tweedy appeared first on Stereogum. View the full article

  27. Ever since the early Beatles days, Paul McCartney's signature instrument has been the Höfner 500/1 violin bass guitar. In 1961, an 18-year-old McCartney bought the instrument in Hamburg for £30. That was McCartney's primary instrument for the Beatles' entire run. His bass was stolen in 1972, and it was returned to him more than 50 years later after someone found it in an attic. Now, the German manufacturer Höfner is going out of business, and McCartney has given the company a fond sendoff.
