Delaney Bailey Announces New Album Concave: Hear “Far Away”
No matter how many facelift procedures or anti-aging serums are invented, there isn’t anything emotionally or mentally preventative for the weirdness of getting older. On the brilliant new single “Far Away” from Delaney Bailey, the Chicago songwriter contemplates the absurdity of self-awareness and wisdom that comes with age. “From far away, aging makes me feel sick,” she sings over a propulsive drumbeat. Her tone is wary but soft, sounding a little bit like Clairo. The new single also announces her new album Concave, out in January via AWAL. = View the full article

A few years ago, Danny Brown and his extended Detroit-based Bruiser Brigade crew put out a blitz of Bandcamp albums, and the clear standout among them was Bruiser Wolf, a languid motormouth character who radiates serious E-40 vibes. Bruiser Wolf was one of our favorite new artists of 2021, and he’s been on a serious blitz since then. Just a few months ago, Bruiser Wolf released his album Potuck. Now, he’s back with another new LP, and this one is a full-length collaboration with the extremely prolific New York producer Harry Fraud. View the full article

U2 Receive 2025 Woody Guthrie Prize, Bono & The Edge Play Acoustic “Pride” & Guthrie Covers
Every year, Oklahoma’s Woody Guthrie Center honors a different artist for contributions to activism through music with the Woody Guthrie Prize. Bruce Springsteen, Mavis Staples, Joan Baez, and John Mellencamp all have Woody Guthrie Prizes. Tom Morello got it last year, and Pussy Riot got it two years ago. This year’s Woody Guthrie Prize recipient is U2, a band that has long made a point out of commitment to justice, though their recent efforts in that arena have been a bit sad. On Tuesday night, U2’s Bono and the Edge, representing the rest of the band, came to Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa to accept the prize and to play a special acoustic set. View the full article

About Airplay 40
Airplay40 – The Top 40 Singles Chart played in full compiled from station airplay on over 250 English speaking radio stations around the globe. The chart features only the music you have been listening to, and is a reflection on what is hot, and what is not in the music world. Also the latest showbiz news from the Radio News Hub Newsroom. About Airplay40 host Spencer Jameshttp://www.airplay40.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/IMG-20190821-WA0004-1024x683.jpgSpencer James has been working in the media for nearly 30 years, and has been broadcasting for over two decades. In that time he has been the programming controller for the UK’s first bi-lingual student radio station, Production & Promotions Manager for one of Spain’s biggest English radio networks, drive time and breakfast host on stations in the south east of the UK, as well as hosting Airplay40. His passion for the media started originally in television, where he became a first assistant director for a couple of short films, one of which was BAFTA nominated. It was whilst at university however he truly became involved in radio broadcasting. Starting as a presenter, he worked up the ranks to become the Programme Manager for 2 years whilst also attaining a degree in Film & Television at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Post graduation, he worked abroad, for what was supposed to be a summer break. 3 years later he was still there helping in the running of the station. His return to the UK saw him take a role at AA Roadwatch, reporting travel news across north London, Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire as one of the flying eyes. He spent his days flying around in a small airplane reporting on accidents and jams. It sounds more glamorous than it was! In 2003 he started working as a presenter for one of the major radio groups in the South East of the UK, working throughout the schedule from drive time to breakfast show presenter. In the spring of 2008, Spencer hit upon the idea of a chart show for radio stations broadcasting to expatriates, and from that The eXpat Chart was born. Fast forward 3 years, and the show had expanded to a bigger audience than ever before expected. As a result, the name was changed and at the start of 2013, the chart became known as Airplay40. When Spencer is not behind the microphone, he can be found cheering on the England rugby team, as well as trying to hit a golf ball around the place. He also likes creating and experimenting in the kitchen, trying to invent new and interesting recipes, usually with varying degrees of success.
