  1. One night during the late show, the phone line lit up with a request for “Don’t Fear the Reaper.” The caller’s voice was calm, almost whispery — but when we went to log it, there was no number on record. The studio phone history was blank. We played the song anyway, and halfway through it, someone texted saying it was their mom’s favorite — she’d passed away that same day. Still gives me chills.
  2. Would you play classic rock deep cuts, do weird talk segments, interview locals, or mix everything together? Let’s hear your dream show idea — and what you’d call it!
  3. Some folks love the banter, others just want uninterrupted tunes. What’s your take? Should hosts keep chatting, or keep quiet and play the hits?
  4. You’re driving, in a funk, and then — boom — the perfect song comes on. What’s that track for you? The one that instantly flips your day around?
  5. Could be someone from Solano Radio, or from way back when. Who had that voice that made you stop everything and listen?
  6. I once picked up a local AM station while camping miles from anywhere. Static, strange voices, and all — somehow it was the best thing ever. Anyone else got a good “radio in the middle of nowhere” story?
  7. Streaming changed everything. I used to buy CDs and listen straight through — now I skip around like a squirrel with ADHD. Do you still sit down and enjoy a full album start to finish?
  8. You know that one track that hit you like lightning and made you obsessed with music? I still remember hearing mine on a beat-up car radio in high school. What was yours — and do you still love it?
  9. It’s the classic argument — passion vs. practicality. If you had to pick one for the rest of your life, which side would you be on?
  10. Some comedians say they can’t tell jokes anymore without offending someone. Is that just an excuse for lazy writing, or are audiences genuinely too sensitive now?
  11. People say it’s never been easier to meet someone — yet somehow harder to actually connect. Have apps made love more convenient or completely transactional?
  12. It started as holding people accountable, but now it feels like anyone can get “canceled” for almost anything. Is it fixing problems or creating new ones?
  13. Some folks say fame comes with responsibility, others say they’re just entertainers. Where’s the line? Should we really be holding pop stars and actors to moral standards?
  14. Seems like everyone’s either hustling nonstop or completely burned out. Is the “grind” culture just normal now, or are we long overdue for a reality check?
  15. It feels like we’re all plugged in 24/7, but somehow everyone’s lonelier than ever. Do you think social media brought us together or just made us better at pretending?
  16. I swear songs hit differently depending on the time of day. Some people love the 2 a.m. “spooky hour” vibes, others want their rock with a cup of coffee. What about you? When’s your perfect listening time?
  17. There are stations now with full-on AI DJs doing talk breaks and “banter.” Some of it sounds eerily real. Would you actually tune in to that, or does it kill the human side of radio that makes it fun?
  18. I’ve been digging out some old records lately and honestly, there’s just something about the sound. But then I switch back to streaming and the convenience wins every time. What do you all think — is the warmth of vinyl really worth the hassle, or is digital just the smarter way to go now?

Automatic News/Weather Audio Publisher (AlmaLinux + NGINX) What it isA lightweight, production-ready pipeline that publishes your daily News or Weather audio to a single, stable URL. It auto-rotates the latest file at a set time each morning, plays nice with Radio.co and modern browsers, and needs no database, no CMS, no ffmpeg (unless you want it). Designed for reliability, zero downtime, and dead-simple ops. Why stations love itSet-and-forget scheduling: Auto-publish the newest file at 6:00 AM (or any time you choose). Stable playback URL: https://yourdomain/localnews/current.mp3 (and optional /localweather/). Perfect for players and syndication. HTTPS-safe: Works cleanly in secure embeds (no mixed-content headaches). No downtime swaps: Atomic relink—listeners always hit the latest cut. Zero-hassle ops: Simple copy-based scripts; optional ffmpeg normalization later. Instant rollback: Repoint to any archived cut in seconds. Cache-proofed: Sends no-cache headers; supports easy cache-buster query. Tiny footprint: Just NGINX + two shell scripts. That’s it. Who it’s forStations and podcasts that post daily News or Weather. Program Directors who want a dependable URL that never changes. Teams on cPanel/WHM or VPS who need a simple, auditable workflow. How it works (in plain English)Your team uploads today’s MP3 to a known folder. A small script copies and timestamps the file, then atomically repoints current.mp3. A daily cron job repeats the process at your chosen time. Players and partners always use the same stable URL—no playlist edits needed. What’s includedNGINX config with correct audio headers and no-cache controls. Publish-now scripts for News and Weather (copy-only). “Publish newest” helpers for automation via cron. Clear README with cut-and-paste commands. Tech basicsOS: AlmaLinux 8/9 (RHEL/CentOS compatible) Web server: NGINX Output: MP3 (copy-only by default; optional ffmpeg variant available) Integrations: Works with Radio.co and any HTTPS player Sound good?Grab the ZIP, drop in your domain and upload paths, and you’re live in minutes. 20. I've been super busy recording shows in advance of my 3 week hiatus where me and my wife will be heading out on the road for our other job, working the renaissance fairs up and down the west coast. I have maybe 7 shows recorded in advance, so I have plenty of breathing room to get back home after the month and get some rest before hitting the studio again.
  21. Let’s make up superhero names! 🦸 Use this formula: First letter of your first name = adjective First letter of your last name = noun Example list: A = Amazing B = Brave C = Cosmic M = Mongoose N = Ninja P = Panther So Mitch McLean becomes… The Amazing Mongoose! 😂 What’s yours?
  22. Time to unleash your best memes, GIFs, and funny pics 😂 Keep it friendly and forum-safe, but go wild otherwise. Bonus points for music- or community-themed memes!
  23. Simple game — pick one of the two options the person above gives you, then post a new pair for the next person. Example: Coffee or Tea? Coffee! Next: Cats or Dogs? I’ll start: Movies or TV Shows? 🎬📺
  24. Let’s play Two Truths and a Lie! 🤔 Post three statements about yourself — two are true, one’s a lie. The next person guesses which one’s the lie, then posts their own! Example: I once met a rock star backstage. I can’t whistle. I own five cats.
