Are there any upcoming concerts or live shows you're planning to attend this year?
I would like to see the trans siberian orchestra again this year but I don't think I could get tickets now since I'm sure they've been sold out for a while now. I got to see them in 2018, my wife surprised me with tickets. I've been wanting to see them since I was a kid so it was awesome to finally go and see them, and I would love to see them again.

What’s the most memorable live show you’ve ever attended?
I know I just attended the Sonic Symphony earlier this year but it's definitely the most memorable concert I've been to so far in my life. I've been waiting ages for a event like this to happen for Sonic, I attended a Pokemon event similar to the Sonic one and I hoped that we'd get one for Sonic too. Sonic is my favorite gaming franchise so it was a dream come true to attend that concert!

How far in advance do you typically plan for concerts?
I try my best to plan in advance. I had a plan for the last concert I was going to attend, but plans fell through unfortunately and I couldn't attend the concert. Life gets in the way sometimes, even if you do end up planning. I also had my trip to Atlanta to see the Sonic Symphony planned well in advance, I booked the hotel to ensure my wife and I had a room to stay the night we arrived in Georgia. We also decided to leave the day before the concert so we'd have plenty of time to drive down south.

Do you have any virtual concerts planned?
I never really had the drive to watch a virtual concert. Maybe I'll give it a try if one of my favorite artists ends up having one, I think it might be kind of cool to attend a virtual concert in a video game like Fortnite. People usually jump around the concert lobby, and I don't think they can attack each other lol. Other than that I'm not sure if I'd watch one via Discord or zoom or anything else like that.

Do you prefer small, intimate concerts or large stadium events?
I don't really have much of a preference myself. On one hand it's great to be in a smaller venue so you can truly feel connected to the band a bit more, but it's also very cool to see your favorite bands and artists in a large stadium. Usually the larger the stadium, the more flashy the concert is and that can really pump up the show and make it more memorable.

What's the most you've ever spent on concert tickets ?
I've spent around $110 on tickets to see the Sonic Symphony. We got the cheapest seats we could afford, but I didn't mind where we sat as long as I was able to see the stage and enjoy myself during the event. I know the lower floor seats which were right by the stage were hundreds of dollars, so it would have cost us around $500 for two tickets if I remember correctly. It was worth every penny IMO!

Are there any local venues or concert halls in your area ?
Oh yeah it's nice having just one venue, but multiple ones are even better. I can also travel a bit to Kansas City if I wanted to as well as Chicago, though both are hours away from where I live. Since I live in Missouri, and it's in the middle of the US it makes it a bit easier to go to different venues. Also sometimes concerts will happen in the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, so that's another venue I forgot to list.

If you could attend any music festival in the world
I would definitely want to visit Tomorrowland! I love EDM, it's one of my favorite genres of music and it would be so dang cool to attend! I can imagine it would be like a giant rave party, EDM is such an upbeat genre of music that gets everyone dancing.

Do you prefer buying concert tickets the moment they go on sale ?
I like to try and snag them when they first go on sale, especially if it's a big event that I know the tickets will sell out quickly. I remember the moment the Sonic Symphony tickets went on sale, I wanted to ensure I would be able to attend the concert. In some cases it's cheaper to do this, sometimes tickets will go up in price the closer the event gets.

Have you ever won tickets to a concert or live event through a radio station ?
Most radio stations around me only allow listeners to call them, which I honestly don't like doing so I usually miss out on contests haha. Because of that I never really tried to enter radio contests. Thankfully though the contest going on here you just need to text a number, I like that much better! I can imagine it can be difficult to win tickets on a radio show since so many people are listening and calling in.

What's your take on virtual concerts and live-streamed events ?
I believe they're here to stay for good. Everything seems to be moving to online platforms/streaming these days so I expect to see more concerts move to virtual ones. Funny enough I never thought there would be concerts in video games, but lately a few different artists have had digital concerts in the game Fortnite which is crazy to think about. Makes me wonder if more games will have digital concerts.

What’s your dream concert or live event you’d love to attend someday?
It's definitely Blink 182 lol. Like I mentioned in another thread I missed out this year and I'm hoping they will go on tour again next year. They tend to go on tour pretty much every year it seems like, or at least that's how it's been recently. This also may be a bit embarrassing but I want to see Sabrina Carpenter in concert too since I love her music haha. (I'm a 35 year old man who likes synth music so I definitely like her newer stuff.)

What is your favorite live talk radio show or station?
Honestly not so much. Whenever I do listen to music I either use Youtube or my MP3 player which I'm allowed to listen to at work. Every once in a while I do enjoy listening to the radio for the heck of it. Listening to the radio gives me a bit of nostalgia, because growing up in the 90's and 00's before MP3 players were a thing we had to listen to the radio or listen to CDs/cassettes/vinyl lol.

What's the longest you've ever waited or camped out to get tickets for a concert or live event?
Thankfully in this day and age it's much easier to purchase tickets than back in the day. I never had to wait for concert tickets in a line or anything like that, though you still need to be quick about adding them to your cart before they are sold out. Scalpers are the worse, I think there's a few laws put into place to try and negate scalpers from buying tickets in bulk but I'm not sure how well the rules are enforced.

What is one band you wish you saw in concert but never did?
Oh man there's so many different artists and bands I wish I got the chance to see. I would have loved to seen Ozzy Osbourne in concert, but I sadly never got the chance to do so and he passed away back in July of this year. I would have loved to see Michael Jackson as well as Tom Petty, but they too are no longer with us.

What is your favorite live talk radio show or station?
I used to listen to the Juble show on z107.7 St. Louis but this was when I worked in a factory and we couldn't listen to Youtube lol. We were stuck with a little radio and sometimes it wouldn't even come in that great. But the Juble show was hilarious, sometimes callers would get the radio hosts to call people they went on a date with to see if they would go on another date.

Have you ever been to a BTS concert ?
My wife used to love BTS, but after they broke up to join the military she kind of moved on from listening to their music. They're back together again, but some of the members let the money get to their heads so they're not really humble anymore and she doesn't like the direction some of them went. So there might have been a chance that I would have been dragged to a BTS concert, but that chance is long gone now lol. I do feel bad for my wife, she was really wanting to see them live before they enlisted in the Military.

How do you decide which events or artists to see live?
It depends on how much I love the band. Or if I know it's a farewell tour for some of my favorite bands, that's when I'll decide to go and see them live. Of course it also depends on the day of the week too, I missed out on seeing Blink 182 because the schedule didn't work in my favor. I planned to use a sick day the day after the concert but I had to use that sick day for another time lol, so I couldn't call in the next day and I would have been super tired if I went to work the next day.

Are there any local venues or concert halls in your area ?
Yep I don't live too far from a music venue, there's the Powel Symphony Hall in downtown St. Louis and then Riverport which is not far from my work in Bridgeton Missouri. Riverport kind of sucks though lol, it's an outdoor venue so that's mainly why. Most concerts come during the summertime so it can be super brutal out. You also don't want to get lawn seats, you won't be able to hear the concert well.

Do you follow any radio stations/streaming platforms that announce upcoming live appearances & concerts?
I tend to follow my local stations on social media platforms like Facebook and Youtube to get the latest news for upcoming shows. In fact, I'm not sure if anyone noticed but if you listen to music from artists on Youtube you can get information from upcoming shows in the description of the video if it's uploaded from the artist's official Youtube channel!

Do you prefer watching live broadcasts of concerts from home?
To me nothing beats actually seeing the artist live in person. I totally get not being able to go out and experiencing the concert live if something comes up and I think it's fine to watch live performances from home. That's just not for me though, because part of the concert experience is actually being there in person and chilling with other people who enjoy the artist you do. You all come together for a short period of time, nothing else matters but the artist and harmonizing with each song.

How long have you been a DJ for?
I've got another question for the DJs here! How long have you been a DJ for? Can you talk about the other radio stations you used to work for, if you previously worked for any other station before? Maybe that's two questions haha, my bad but I would love to hear your responses!

Have you ever been disappointed by a live performance?
So I have been disappointed, but I thankfully didn't see this artist live. I happened to see a live performance by Macy Gray on Youtube one time and she came on the stage completely wasted and she couldn't sing at all. I'm glad I didn't pay to see her and I feel bad for her audience, I just hope they didn't have to pay too much for tickets. I've thankfully never been to a concert that I didn't like. I also was thinking about seeing Shania Twain live last year, I heard she doesn't sound good live anymore so I'm glad I dodged that one.

Have you ever traveled to a different city or country just to see a specific artist perform?
Well it wasn't certainly a specific artist but I did travel down to Atlanta, Georgia earlier this year to see the Sonic the Hedgehog Symphony Orchestra! I knew this was going to be the second from last show they were going to have and I didn't want to miss it, so I decided to get tickets for the Atlanta showing and I happened to get a few days off of work so it worked out lol. I was going to see it in Kansas City which is closer to where I live, but things came up.

What got you all interested in being radio DJs?
Hey Solano Rock and Talk Radio DJs! I'm curious to hear about how you all got into this career and what made you interested in becoming a DJ for the station? I was thinking about being a radio talk host when I was younger, since I liked listening to the radio of course but also loved the random shows they had. I decided to go down a different route with my career though. It'd be great to hear from you all!
