What’s the weirdest place you’ve ever listened to the radio?

I once picked up a local AM station while camping miles from anywhere. Static, strange voices, and all — somehow it was the best thing ever. Anyone else got a good “radio in the middle of nowhere” story?

If I can think of the weirdest place I've tuned into a radio station and really had a good time listening, it would be in the toilet. I have a habit of always going in there with my phone which I can listen to radio on too. I bet it's not only me who goes into the toilet with their phones.

Mine was when I went hiking in September on a nearby hill. As we were climbing the hill, I got the urge to play some songs and that was when I started searching for a radio station that played cool rock, rap and pop songs. I kept listening throughout the hiking experience.

Seriously, I don't think there's any particular place where I would consider being weird I've listened to music. There's no way I would say being on road listening to radio is something weird.

If it is only being on the road was where you ever listened to a radio, then it is not a weird place. There are people who has listened to radio at shopping malls, at the Bush, while travelling on the road, and at the school. Also remember that s place you considered to be weird might not be the same for others.

Playing music during any kind of exercise activities is usually very helpful. If you tune into the radio station at that time when you're climbing the hill which I consider more like hiking, it's to energise yourself.

Yeah, I completely agree with you about some places being weird for and not for others vice versa. This is why I'm very specific in naming being on the road as not being weird for me.

It is more like it. A way that I got to stay focused during that hiking activities. Just like you mentioned, it really helped me during that exercise.

It's why all of the gym houses where I used to be a member in the past have their music sound system being very vocal in the gym.

Any gym house where people come workout that doesn't play music is going feel like a mourning ground. It's going to be practically difficult for me to workout in such gym.

As long as I came with my headset to such gym, I wouldn't bother about no music being played there because my bang playlist for working out will do more than enough to keep me lively.

I have this mindset that it is the music that makes going to the gym to be worth it. Without the music, it would be a boring place to exercise.

Although, I'm going to consider listening to the radio at the gym to be very weird. Yes, they do play some music on the radio but it's filled with so many commercials.

One might be at the gym when some great songs are being played over the radio though I would still say that it is a weird thing to do.

I agree too because there's no way I would be at any gym and no music is playing. The workout session is going to be very boring.

It's surely weird because you can't control what's going to be played by the radio. It breaks the rhythm of workout.

Unless it's the early stage of the radio station opening that it's going to work listening to it at the gym because they play mostly only music at the time. When they are in full operation, the music playing gets cuts down drastically.

It's from those commercials radio stations make money from, they can't do without airing commercials all the time. I don't have any problems with it because businesses need publicity from such.

I don’t think I’ve ever listened to the radio in any weird or unusual place. It’s usually just in the car, at home or sometimes while doing chores.
